Visby, Sweden, 31 August 2026 — Midocean has signed the contract to acquire the vessel Geo Focus, which has now been delivered and is docked in Visby.

From September, the vessel will join the Midocean fleet as Ocean Focus, representing a significant step forward in the company’s operational capacity and its ability to support more complex and extended missions at sea. Ocean Focus will be the largest vessel within the fleet.

Ocean Focus brings proven capability for survey work, research operations and offshore projects. Equipped with Kongsberg multibeam, HiPAP underwater communication systems, DP1 capability and accommodation for longer operations, the vessel will strengthen Midocean’s ability to support ocean research, survey work and offshore assignments across the Baltic Sea, Skagerrak, Kattegat and the North Sea.

The acquisition enhances the Midocean fleet’s overall capacity and flexibility, while supporting the continued development of the company’s existing vessels. For Midocean, Ocean Focus represents a long-term investment in the practical infrastructure needed for modern ocean operations.

Ocean Focus is an important addition to our fleet and to our long-term development as an ocean operations company. She strengthens our ability to support more advanced missions, operate for longer periods and meet the growing need for reliable vessel capacity in ocean research and offshore work,” says Christoffer Hällström, CEO of Midocean.

The vessel is expected to join the Midocean fleet under her new name, Ocean Focus, in September.
